End-of-life Coach, Writer, Author & Artist
Many think that you need to have great drive and ambition to do something great. Like writing that great novel lurking inside you, becoming a master artist, a grand singer that touches the emotions, an awesome chef or anything that speaks to your soul. But really the ambition is already inside you…waiting.
Let’s make two small changes. Replace the word “drive” with discipline and the word “ambition” with commitment. It’s about having discipline to follow through on your commitments. It’s about having the commitment to making life better by following your path. Not just making life better for you, but for everyone your life touches.
What most of us really lack is discipline. The follow through. We make promises we never keep. We commit ourselves to something and then for whatever reason, we just stop and break the commitment. We break our word.
If you make an appointment with your guides, spirit, God, whomever and you commit to sitting down every day they will come. They will sit with you and help you. If you show up they will meet you more than halfway. But the real kicker is that you have to make the first step by making a commitment to yourself and then have the discipline to do it. If you can’t keep a commitment to yourself then you will not be able to keep a commitment to God either. Because where does God live? God & Goddess live in us, in our hearts and minds. If you break your own word to yourself you are breaking it to God as well.
Are you as committed to your family as you are Sunday night football? Are you as committed to God as you are your boss? Are you as committed to fulfilling you purpose as you are to the latest reality TV show?
The work will get done as long as you are disciplined to do it. MAKE the time to sit and write each and every day, or paint or whatever. Drive & ambition or commitment & discipline is a promise to yourself, your future, your committed to your guides, your commitment to God & Goddess.
Can you see that ambition is the desire already present in you to succeed? And the drive it takes to get there is nothing more than a promise to yourself. A commitment to be better, to do better. Discipline is the follow though. The steps that become habit. The habit of success and fulfilling your passion.
’till next time,
