Anchors Aweigh

Many times in my life I have felt lost—like I had no home.  I belonged nowhere and to no one.  I had no anchor to make me feels safe.  I was unfettered and free.  Which also means that I had no direction to mark my path.  I was at the mercy of the prevailing winds of the cosmos and feeling stuck at the same time.

Yea…I know.  How can you be free and stuck at the same time? I could certainly pick up and go anywhere I wanted at anytime I wanted.  And I didn’t go anywhere at all.  Hence…my stuckness.  And confusion.  And self doubt.  And the list goes on.  I felt alone and unloved.  Not even my guides were helpful.

Then a dear friend and mentor, who was having her own crises, talked to her friend and mentor and she suggested that home, your anchor…the thing or place that makes you feel loved and wanted is not a dot on a map.  Your home, your anchor is in your heart.  You carry it with you.

People will always come and go in your life, no matter where you are.  The forever friends will always be there no matter where you live.  So you might as well be happy with where you live.  But I’m not happy.  I miss rain, tall bushy trees, lakes, the ocean air and mountains.  I miss forests.  I miss really good seafood.  The kind of seafood you can only get at the shore.

My point is: what is keeping you rooted in place?  What is holding you?  What is your anchor?  For most of us it’s family, a need for good schools and a spiritual home.  Our attachments are our anchors.  Make sure what you’re anchored to is really what you desire or you will be pulled under by the weight of your attachments.  The sea of regret will claim you and destroy any hopes and dreams you have left.

Being good to yourself is the best thing you can do for those around you.  If you’re not happy, weigh anchor and go to that place that sings to your heart.  Maybe it’s across country or maybe it’s your back yard.  It doesn’t matter at all as long as your anchor is in your own heart and not in another’s.

‘till next time

Being Aware & Thankful

My friend and mentor #AlauraRaven #Mothershaman recently gave me a challenge, though she didn’t know it.  I bought some special oil for my hair…….yep….the Moroccan stuff.  Might I say it’s awesome, but back to my point.  She told me to put it in my hand and bless it and thank it for making my hair prettier, thicker and for growing more.  It’s the same concept as saying grace and giving thanks for your blessings.  So I’m giving it a good try and I’ll get back to you on that.

My real point is, how often do we miss those opportunities to bless and give thanks?  So when I opened my eyes this morning I decided to start giving thanks for everything I came in contact with.  An awesome bed to sleep in, a warm floor to walk on, hot water to take my shower, shampoo, soap, clean towels, toothpaste, toothbrush, hair mouse, hair dryer, curling iron, hair spray, clean clothes, the washing machine & dryer that made it possible to have clean clothes, good sneakers to put on my feet, food in my fridge & hot tea to sooth my soul.  That was just the first hour of my day.

Someone, many someones, had to make these things that serve me.  So in a very real sense they serve me too.  Farmers had to plant the seeds, water, fertilize and harvest the food I eat.  Someone had to get it to the store, where I could buy it.  There the cashier needed to take my money and bag it up.  It’s the same with every product we have—many hands went into making it available just for me.  So why not send blessings and gratitude backward to all those people that make your life and life style possible.

Channeled Messages

I read a number of blogs and follow several people who channel either Angelic beings, Arcturians, Pleiadians, Star beings or Elders. I value each one and by no means do I discounting their message or the deliverer and its source.  But from an earth person’s perspective, I would appreciate a more practical explanation of how to prepare ourselves for the coming doom and gloom.  As seer myself, I find it very disrespectful to give information without advice/instruction on how to minimize the damage to ourselves.  Being informed it is one thing, being able to protect ourselves is another.  Information on how to raise our awareness, how to expand our consciousness, how to raise up our fellow man and make our world a better place is of the main purpose of our service—but not just predate our demise.

On a personal note, as a writer I am offended by the poor grammar that most channeler’s allow out in their name.  True it may be coming from “another” source but we are still attaching our name and our energy to it and the bad grammar really does make the “entity” sound like an idiot.  I believe most people discount a message that is poorly written and poorly edited as sounding too stupid to be believed.  We can without a doubt make the message easier to read without changing the meaning of the message.

Is Reiki Limiting Your Abilities?

As an energy worker I no longer use Reiki as a healing tool, even though I’m a Reiki master.  In 1997 when I received my Reiki master training in the Usui tradition we learned our hand positions which were awesome for general work such as stress relief, health tune up’s and overall well being.  But as I quickly learned, the formula of Reiki is extremely limited in its scope.  Assuming of course you never deviate from your original teachings.

But if you leave your comfort zone long enough you will begin to understand that healing does not come from the hands of any healer, it comes directly from the divine source.  Reiki is just a system, one of many that people have created.  True, all energy healing systems channel healing.  It is the method in which healing is delivered that makes the difference.  I have always found that when I step aside and allow the divine mind to direct what I do that healing is much more powerful and permanent.

For instance, if a person has a headache what they really need is relaxation and the pulling of the pain from their body.  So directing energy to an elbow is not necessarily helpful.  Creating a pathway for the pain energy to leave IS helpful.  But in the Reiki tradition which I learned that was not an option.  In fact creating pathways for energy to travel was not even taught.

I have discovered over my Reiki career that the healing force doesn’t care about my hand positions.  Unfortunately with our “good intentions” we quite often subvert and redirect that healing energy from where it is needed to where we wanted it to go.  You might be shaking your head about now, but think about it for a second.  We are like a pipeline taking the energy from the source and sending it to its destination.  Or even liked electrical current.  We direct the path of electricity by flipping a switch on or off.  Our intention can send the energy off in the wrong direction, or block it all together.

It really does pay to listen to your spirit guides, the healing angels and the guides of the person you’re working with.  While working on my mother’s arthritic knee I had a shaman standing across the table telling me to blow on her knee.  I actually thought that was rather stupid, and that I was imagining it.  But again the strong urge from the shaman to blow on her knee interrupted my concentration on filling her knee with healing energy.  I again said no.  It just seemed not right somehow.  The third time the shaman yelled at me to blow on her knee.  Desperate to get rid of him I humored him and blew on her knee.  At that point I felt energy move like I never had before, my mom opened her eyes and ask me what I had just done; she related that her knee was completely pain free.

After telling her my experience with the shaman, she said “you should’ve listened the first time.”  It was at that point I heard fading laughter and I knew my shaman teacher was laughing his butt off at me.  I got it, I did learn my lesson.  When you feel an entity, healer, angel, etc., You should listen to them no matter how strange it seems; just do it.  Save yourself being laughed at and do it first time.

That was the first of many such teachings.  To break out of that Reiki mold and work WITH the energy rather than directing the energy.  It may not seem like much of a difference but believe me, it is.

Now I just teach working with the energy; how to magnify it and use it for what your client needs.  Before you ask, no the client does not always know what they truly needing.  But spirit does.  The healing energy does.  Learning to be open and receptive to this change in the way we do our healing work, will go a long way toward amplifying the healing that is taking place on our planet.

What is Mind Control?

While perusing YouTube for meditation videos I came across a self hypnosis video for controlling others using your mind. My immediate reaction was one of surprise and disdain.

One of the comments on this video agreed with me calling it unethical.  But something about the video made me stop and think for a second time.  I gave it a listen and to my surprise it was remarkable similar to a meditation from a popular mind control method that has been around for years.  I even have that very same system and do the meditation frequently.

I got to thinking about trying to control others using my mental energies.  On the surface it does seem unethical, but really we try to influence others all the time.  We try to wear them down with our arguments for our own “rightness’ through what seems like endless debate.  We present convincing arguments and win people with our charm and verbal skill.  So what’s the difference?

I frankly don’t see any difference.  One form of control is just as good or bad as the other.  Perhaps the word “control” should be replaced with influence.  It puts a whole new light on the mind “control” issue.

When I was applying for disability it was recommended that every day I send love to the people that would be making the decision about my case.  Was this a form of control and influence over another person?  Was I right to do that?  Was I right in sending love concerning my case?  Or was I out of line in trying to influence the outcome?  Sending distance healing is another example of exerting control over a person’s health.  Reiki and laying on of hands is nothing more than trying to control/influence another person’s physical or emotional well being.

The strong-minded/strong-willed have always exerted influence over others.  Marketing and advertizing have been doing it since the beginning of time.  Again I don’t see the difference.  The lines are blurred for me.

Politicians do it every day!  It seems to me to be an ongoing battle for the control of our dollars, of votes, control of our work environment and projects and the pressing of personal agendas in all arenas.  Highly focusing your thoughts and the energies to obtaining a goal is the exact same thing as trying to control another’s thoughts.  You are sending that energy out and you expect cooperation in return.  Again I don’t see the difference.

I’m not saying that trying to control another person is a good thing.  But we do attempt to influence our world and the people in it for our own benefit.  That in itself is a form of mind control.  Simply being in close proximity to another person’s energy field blurs that space between us.  It creates an area of sharing of ideas, thoughts and feelings.  We cannot help but experience another person’s energy field.  Our energy field extends out about 5 feet and according to some about 25 feet.  So those people that live in very close communities like an apartment building, are constantly mingling energies.  It is unavoidable in this day and age.  This closeness means we feel our neighbors emotions which can be rather scary.  So would it be appropriate to send them calming energy if they’re angry?  Would that not to be a form of mind control?

There are no answers to these questions that I have posed, but I would like to know what you think.
