Many think that you need to have great drive and ambition to do something great.  Like writing that great novel lurking inside you, becoming a master artist, a grand singer that touches the emotions, an awesome chef or anything that speaks to your soul.  But really the ambition is already inside you…waiting.

Let’s make two small changes.  Replace the word “drive” with discipline and the word “ambition” with commitment.  It’s about having discipline to follow through on your commitments.  It’s about having the commitment to making life better by following your path.  Not just making life better for you, but for everyone your life touches.

What most of us really lack is discipline.  The follow through.  We make promises we never keep.  We commit ourselves to something and then for whatever reason, we just stop and break the commitment.  We break our word.

If you make an appointment with your guides, spirit, God, whomever and you commit to sitting down every day they will come.  They will sit with you and help you.  If you show up they will meet you more than halfway.  But the real kicker is that you have to make the first step by making a commitment to yourself and then have the discipline to do it.  If you can’t keep a commitment to yourself then you will not be able to keep a commitment to God either. Because where does God live?  God & Goddess live in us, in our hearts and minds.  If you break your own word to yourself you are breaking it to God as well.

Are you as committed to your family as you are Sunday night football?  Are you as committed to God as you are your boss? Are you as committed to fulfilling you purpose as you are to the latest reality TV show?

The work will get done as long as you are disciplined to do it.  MAKE the time to sit and write each and every day, or paint or whatever.   Drive & ambition or commitment & discipline is a promise to yourself, your future, your committed to your guides, your commitment to God & Goddess.

Can you see that ambition is the desire already present in you to succeed?  And the drive it takes to get there is nothing more than a promise to yourself.  A commitment to be better, to do better.  Discipline is the follow though.  The steps that become habit.  The habit of success and fulfilling your passion.

’till next time,

Love, Peace & Pumpkin Pie

Morning Prayer

Great Spirit, as l travel through this day be my center, my inspiration, be in every thought and word.

Make sure I spread only love, joy and light.  Make sure that every action I make comes from spirit and not from ego.

Allow me to live as one with you.  Live in my heart so that I may love as unconditionally as you do.  To give your wisdom and healing to all that need.

Let me walk gently through the lives of others and leave them better for my presence.

Aho / Amen

Channeled Message from Kwan Yin

This was a portion of a channeled session from my soul sister, Alarua Raven.  You can find her on facebook and through my facebook page too.  If you ever get only one reading…this is the lady to help you.  She should be a national treasure.

The feeling of lostness….comes before the break through.  It’s a shift to let go what you have outgrown.  You are being prepared for more.  You are going through a major clearing: burning residue….we all go through a retrospect in order to shed skin….to deepen and grow as healers.  Even as you shed what no longer serves, it still served a purpose at that moment.

Decisions made, good and bad help us grow…what they show me: a snake (healer symbol) shedding skin shamanicly is you… growing deeper. You can no longer vibrate at the same level.  Your frequency changed.  All lower level (energies)  that does not harmonize, will not  adhere.  Transformation is happening on a cellular level for you…to transmute to a new place…so embrace the change and make it work for you.

…get in the flow with Mary.  Mary she says does not discount your value…you are worthy of the tasks assigned.  That in this we pass you through the filter to cleanse lower harmonic frequency that you may be guided to a higher place of being….that we may use your ability to channel and guide.  To teach and implement necessary due change in this life.

Pain is a catalyst for release…be as kind to yourself as you are to others.

With love and grace, Kwan Yin

Remember passion is obtained through love of your higher self… choose your power… don’t deplete it by unnecessary harm from self judgment.

Kwan Yin, I am with you.

Is Reiki Limiting Your Abilities?

As an energy worker I no longer use Reiki as a healing tool, even though I’m a Reiki master.  In 1997 when I received my Reiki master training in the Usui tradition we learned our hand positions which were awesome for general work such as stress relief, health tune up’s and overall well being.  But as I quickly learned, the formula of Reiki is extremely limited in its scope.  Assuming of course you never deviate from your original teachings.

But if you leave your comfort zone long enough you will begin to understand that healing does not come from the hands of any healer, it comes directly from the divine source.  Reiki is just a system, one of many that people have created.  True, all energy healing systems channel healing.  It is the method in which healing is delivered that makes the difference.  I have always found that when I step aside and allow the divine mind to direct what I do that healing is much more powerful and permanent.

For instance, if a person has a headache what they really need is relaxation and the pulling of the pain from their body.  So directing energy to an elbow is not necessarily helpful.  Creating a pathway for the pain energy to leave IS helpful.  But in the Reiki tradition which I learned that was not an option.  In fact creating pathways for energy to travel was not even taught.

I have discovered over my Reiki career that the healing force doesn’t care about my hand positions.  Unfortunately with our “good intentions” we quite often subvert and redirect that healing energy from where it is needed to where we wanted it to go.  You might be shaking your head about now, but think about it for a second.  We are like a pipeline taking the energy from the source and sending it to its destination.  Or even liked electrical current.  We direct the path of electricity by flipping a switch on or off.  Our intention can send the energy off in the wrong direction, or block it all together.

It really does pay to listen to your spirit guides, the healing angels and the guides of the person you’re working with.  While working on my mother’s arthritic knee I had a shaman standing across the table telling me to blow on her knee.  I actually thought that was rather stupid, and that I was imagining it.  But again the strong urge from the shaman to blow on her knee interrupted my concentration on filling her knee with healing energy.  I again said no.  It just seemed not right somehow.  The third time the shaman yelled at me to blow on her knee.  Desperate to get rid of him I humored him and blew on her knee.  At that point I felt energy move like I never had before, my mom opened her eyes and ask me what I had just done; she related that her knee was completely pain free.

After telling her my experience with the shaman, she said “you should’ve listened the first time.”  It was at that point I heard fading laughter and I knew my shaman teacher was laughing his butt off at me.  I got it, I did learn my lesson.  When you feel an entity, healer, angel, etc., You should listen to them no matter how strange it seems; just do it.  Save yourself being laughed at and do it first time.

That was the first of many such teachings.  To break out of that Reiki mold and work WITH the energy rather than directing the energy.  It may not seem like much of a difference but believe me, it is.

Now I just teach working with the energy; how to magnify it and use it for what your client needs.  Before you ask, no the client does not always know what they truly needing.  But spirit does.  The healing energy does.  Learning to be open and receptive to this change in the way we do our healing work, will go a long way toward amplifying the healing that is taking place on our planet.
